Twelve machines, four mechanisms: sorting one clinic’s tightening floor
A Seoul clinic supplied its full machine list. Twelve devices collapse into a handful of mechanisms, and two questions, which layer and what consumable, sort the lot.

We have written before about Ultherapy, Shurink and Thermage, the three names most patients arrive holding. The same Seoul clinic whose injectables shelf we read recently supplied its full machine floor, and it is a better lesson than the big three alone, because twelve machines collapse into a handful of mechanisms, and the mechanism is what decides whether a machine can do what you were told it does.
- Monopolar radiofrequency
- Thermage, Oligio X, Density. Heats a volume of dermis through the surface
- Focused ultrasound
- Ultherapy PRIME, Shurink Universe. Deposits heat at points, at fixed depths
- RF microneedling
- Potenza. Needles carry the energy past the surface before releasing it
- Other energy sources
- ONDA (microwaves), LDM Smart Tri (dual-frequency ultrasound). Different physics, gentler dosing
- Lasers on the same floor
- CO2 (DS-40UB), V-laser, GentleMax Pro Plus. Resurfacing, vessels and hair removal. Not tightening machines at all
- InMode
- the clinic’s list names the manufacturer without naming which of its platforms, so neither will we
The two questions that sort the whole floor
First: which layer of your face is actually loose? Skin surface, dermis, and the deeper support layer are different addresses, and every machine above delivers to some addresses and not others. A clinic that recommends a machine before examining which layer is yours has answered a question nobody asked.
Second: what is the consumable? Most of these machines meter their cost in sealed tips and cartridges with printed shot counts, which makes the consumable, like the injectable vial, one of the few things in the room a patient can personally verify.
Why a clinic carries twelve
The honest reason is that patients differ, and so does demand. A large floor lets a clinic match the mechanism to the layer instead of selling whatever is plugged in, and it also lets a clinic sell the fashionable name to the patient who asks for it. Both things are true at once, which is why the first question above belongs to you and not to the machine list.
